Day 1

Woke up at 6 am in the morning... only to find out that some storm had hit Atlanta while i was sleeping.. Tornado warning was issued that morning.. News also reported that a tornado hit Georgia that same night.. That's something to be scared about... :/ anyway .. life still goes on.. Here are some pics:

After breakfast we went back to the hotel for more poster presentation practicing... oh well.. that's the boring part.. Then, we walked back to GWCC to set up our posters.. The exhibition hall was like super super huge.. hmm... basically everything there was huge la...

Went for some shoptalk about communication skills... and i realize how enthu the americans are... when the speaker asked for volunteers.. there'll always be an overwhelming response... wow... that's like kind of rare here in Singapore...

At night.. we had some pin-exchange activities... all of us were given 80 Singapore pins for exchange... that's where i had the opportunity to meet like thousands of pple from all over the world.. it was really exciting and pple there were really social.. David met some familiar faces from RSI (MIT attachment programme) and he was telling me how smart they are... haha!! WeiChao and Zhao Ye too met pple there whom they already know before from some other international competitions... haha... I am the only one who don't know anyone from there at all... !!! haha... my first pin-exchange experience... =)

Oh and not forgetting the food served there... it was really good though i did not eat much as the teachers brought us for dinner earlier already... sad man..

Went out at night by ourselves to explore the place a bit... night life there was really cool and here's one of my favourite resturants =) HARD ROCK ... haha.. hope we get to go there to eat =)

The Journey to Atlanta

Woke up at 3 am in the morning... and met the rest in terminal 3 at 4.15am... I was really super excited... for i have nvr gone so far from home alone before.. But when i entered the gate way, I felt a bit home sick though... haha! as usual...


Anyway... the journey to Hong Kong was 4 hrs... and United Airlines (UA) was quite disappointing la.. the food was kind of tasteless... the ear phones won't even working and so basically the TV in front was kind of useless too... Luckily David's there to entertain me for the first 2 hours.. haha.. =) ... then when everyone else slept... I stoned for the rest of the time.. coz apparently i juz couldn't slp... ...

After about 2 hours of exploration at HK's airport... we boarded the plane again... this time... for a 13 hours journey... OMG! 3 times the duration of the trip from S'pore to HK !!! ... I wonder how i'd survived!! .. anyway... sat with Mr. Lim and David at the back row... well.. the two of them talked bout some rather 'interesting' topics and i really have no idea how it all started... haha... the statistics really scares me... !!

I managed to get some slp finally... but woke up and realized like there's 10 more hours to go... sigh... in the end .. resort to playing cards =)) ... i was like super blur as nvr had i played with 2 decks of cards before... tortured my poor brain =((...

So basically life there was like talk, eat, sleep and play cards... quite fun and relaxing la... not as bad as i thought it would be... ohhh.. and the eating part totally confused me!! ... they served lunch and lunch again... then maggie mee for supper [or dinner]...

Oh and the highlight for the journey:

Well... after a really really long ride.. we arrived at Chicago and took their internal flight to Altanta =)... and from there... we took a bus to hyatt regency hotel =) ...

It's kind of a pleasant journey on the whole... found out more stuff bout David, Zhao Ye and Wei Chao... haha.. they all like take part in sooooo many international competitions/overseas attachments b4... wa.. super pro la... =)))

Remember the days...

It has really been sometime since i've last visited this place... Last few weeks have been rather busy for me... Haven't been dancing lately... Lots of homework to do... and endless amount of research stuff to prepare... and I'll be leaving next week already! It didn't occur to me that it'll be so soon... ... Time flies...

Let's see...

SSEF award ceremony was great! It was really grand and beautiful... I felt really inspired then too! aahhh... the feeling was indescribable... anyway... got some 400 dollars borders vouchers which will perhaps take me years to finish spending them as I hardly read... =)

Went to celebrate Alyssha's birthday that day too! Finally got a chance to meet up with my secondary 4 friends after such a long time.. =) ... oh... but guess what... i'm the only sole NJ girl there =( ... but it's ok... it's always nice to make new friends =)

Then came physics SPA... =) ... really glad after it was all over cozzzz...... NO MORE SPA FOR EVER and ever!!! =)

Tuesday was like one of the greatest day of my life =) .. ran the 4 x 200m relay finals =)... shalom, wan ching and marrissa are super super fast!!! and i'm just there coz there's a need to fill up one more space =) haha... hey! i realized that more than half the class participated in track and field meet =) ... that's really cool =) ... our class is so sporting la! =) .... played basketball for a while after the race... and played hockey after that =) .... Haha... a rather 'sporty' day for me... seldom have such fun in NJ... one of the rare moments =)

Wednesday was vanessa's birthday... haha.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY! =) i see that she became like a big bird that day... with all the yellow fluffy stuff around her =) ... Here's a picture:

Hmm.. there's this strange feeling within me lately... and i have never felt that way before... ... nvm...

Hey!!!!!!

I realized it's only during weekends that i've the time to blog =) ... anyway.. these are the things that happened this week:

1. Dance on monday as usual=) ... can't really remembered what exactly happened already.. =P
   
2. Half day on tuesday =) .. went out shopping with wendy for a while.. to get her shoes for some wedding dinner =) ...
   
3. Went to MOE headquarters on wed after school for some meeting... supposed to get my blazer too but in the end they didn't have my size... needed XS =) ... haha! oh well... means i've gotta go another day.. anyway... was glad that i've finally finalized my poster =)
   
   Hmm.. but it's sad that i've got to miss CIP again =( .. i've only went twice this year =(
   
   Went for tuition after that with wendy and yi wen... but before that we went to shop at plaza Sing first =)
   
4. Ran 2.4km run on thursday! haha.. it was quite ok la =) ... 12.22 min ... but much much worse than last year still =( ... nvm... ... i dun have to go army anyway... so doesn't really matter to me HAHA!
   
   Followed by dance from 4 - 9 pm... i was so tired but still got to put in effort coz aristal vetting on sat! and i keep yawning throughout the dance pratice... was really extremely tremendously tired!
   
   Went home... bathe... eat... and sleep like immediately as soon as i hopped onto my bed...
   
5. Attempted to do 5 stations on friday... but can't !! haha... my arms were hurting (can't do pull ups)... legs were hurting (can't do standing broad jump and shuttle run) ... and my waist hurts too! (can't do sit-up) ... soooo... basically the only thing i can do is sit-and-reach... which is the worst of my 5 stations...
   
   The pain comes from thursday's running and dance! expected though...and it's the first time my whole body was aching so badly... =(
   
   Ya anyway.. I decided to take my 5 stations next week instead... =)
   
6. Saturday... in other words today... was aristal vetting!! ... i was quite nervous when dancing all the 3 items... haha! it was so scary! .. pair dance was not yet perfected... quan nu item (still can't get the feeling of the dance right =( ... ) ... alumni dance was nice =) ... haha... but i kinda forgot my actions for one part (after running out so confidently, smiling too ... and then opps.. forgot actions)
   

Haha... that only tells me one thing.. i've gotta work a lot harder for dance!! =) ... but it's not so bad though... coz i'm kind of enjoying myself =) this week was quite a 'research-free' week for me =) ... but next week is going to be loaded with research stuff... !!! aahhh... haha...

Surprises... Excitement... =)

Oh it has been a really exciting week =) I won't go into the details anyway [regarding some stuff]... haha!!

Hmm... from what I remembered there was a couple of research meetings this week... dance =) .. and not forgetting the countless amt of school work... [immune to it already... so it dun really bother me anymore =) ]

Tuesday:

1. Had some research presentation to the Israel people... and they are like super tall!! Intimidating man! I was told they were students... ya... and in the end they came in suits and appeared so formal... it was really far from what i had imagined... The way they asked questions and responded to my presentation... OMG! seemed to me as if they were some sort of professors... haha!! Amazed by their lvl of IQ !! Mrs Cheng and HOD of science was there too! .. all there to scare me! haha... but nevertheless, i'm juz glad that it went quite well.. Satisfying at least...
   
2. Well... went to the MOE headquarters after my presentation for some meeting... The facilities alone already amused me tremendously... i went into the lift expecting to see buttons for me to press [juz like any normal lift] ... haha! and there wasn't any buttons at all! well.. i was quite certain there was and so i literally examined the lift in great detail in an attempt to find the 'hidden' buttons... thank god someone came to save me! haha... she told me the buttons were outside and my response was like 'what?!' ... haha.. yup.. it's a security lift.. and apparently that's how it works... =) ... oh.. and upon entering the meeting room.. i realized that the air cons were situated on the floor... haha! what happen to the science about convection current? Anyway it doesn't seem to me that it's a good idea as the room was rather stuffy...
   
   Highlight of the meeting - met up with the previous year's ISEF participants and they shared with us their experiences... well... i learnt that they can juz fall asleep halfway while standing due to terrible jet lag.. [yar.. so must sleep in the plane =) ] ... they shared many fun times together too and from the things they shared.. they all made me sooo excited!! Can't wait to go!!!
   
   Learnt that we'll be taking UA instead of SQ.. that's something to be sad about... well... can't be help coz SQ's needs a transit and the waiting time will be like 10hrs! Yar... but anyway if we take UA we might be able to go terminal 3 =)))))
   
   ooohhhh!! and i'll get to wear Singapore blazer too!!! cool man! for i nvr knew there was such a thing..
   
   Other then all the happy stuff.. there's lots of work to be done of course.. and that's something to work on...
   

Wednesday:

Left school early again... for some photoshoot with the rest of the ISEF finalist at kallang... well.. i was expecting like maybe a studio where we juz like pose and take a pic and that's all... But when i arrived at the 'studio'... it was like so huge and i felt as if i entered some kind of a place where only those bigshot models go!! Haha... they led me to this room where the make-up artist gave me a total make-over... with like make-ups and hairdos... and the photoshoot was hilarious.. it was supposed to be informal shots.. ya.. so got to pose some funny pose on the floor... and then on some white box.. and while standing too!! ... ya... the standing up shots were basically all dance-like pose! interesting experience! haha!

Saturday:

Woke up and i was supposed to go for dance... and omg! i could hardly walk up and down my stairs!! Super terrible muscle aches... ah! so i figured out that i won't be able to dance anyway... yup... so didn't go in the end...

Well.. since i did not go for dance... my mom decide to take this opportunity to bring me out to get all the stuff required for my trip... yup!! really happy that i finally settled almost all the stuff i needed... took a whole day long though... but at least it is done.. and i dun have to worry bout it anymore =) ... left with one white skirt to get... yup

Oh well.. these are juz some of the eventful part of my life for this week.. not really considered the most exciting ones still.. as for the really really really really really exciting ones.. must go ask Jessica! =) haha! Yup...

anyway.. it's getting late... and i really gotta go and slp now... coz according to Jamie.. can't sleep after 12 coz it's bad for health and average age one will live till if so will only be 60 plus... Ahhhh!!!! ... must make up for all the late nights that i have thus far! Yeah! so i'm going to sleep now! =))) [few minutes before 12 =)]
