Pride and Prejudice

watch this show again... for the fifth time this year! But i'll never get bored by it.. at least not yet... it is not exactly the plot that has driven me to like it so much.. it is however the eloquence in the way they speak that captured my undivided attention.. the power of language perhaps... it has deceived me, caused me to be drawn blindly into a supposingly plain plot only enhanced by the splendour of their spoken english.

The story is writtened by Jane Austen. The five Bennet sisters have all been raised by their mother with one purpose in life - finding a husband. However the second eldest, Miss Elizabeth Bennet, could find 100 reasons not to marry. When Mrs Bennet hears the exciting news that a wealthy bachelor and his circle of sophisticated friends are to take up summer residence in a nearby massion the Bennets are abuzz with the hope that potential suitors will be full in supply. Obligingly, the newcomer, Mr Charles Bingley, is immediately taken with the eldest Jane. When Elizabeth meets up with the darkly handsome and snobbish but conveniently rich Mr Darcy, what seems like a match made in heaven quickly becomes divided by pride and prejudice. From the very moment Elizabeth met him, his arrogance, conceit, disdain for the feelings of others made her realized that he was the last man in the world that she could ever be prevailed upon to marry........................................................... But eventually, she was overruled and found a reason to marry Mr Darcy.

Perhaps i should comment on how much i admire Miss Elizabeth Bennet... she displayed self-confidence, positive form of pride... voice diligent remarks ever so confidently in front of far more sophisticated personnels than her.. regarding on how she had captured the heart of Mr Darcy [perhaps it will be far more clearer for one to watch it for himself] .. wished i had the talent of speaking so openly to people whom i've never met before or only for the first time in my life... well... it might not be a born talent but i believe it could be cultivated to a certain extent... Practice? [if it does help at all...]

The music - piano forte... was indeed a perfect choice for the play.. it was able to instill much feelings within me and made me relate perfectly to whatever that was meant to be brought out in the movie.. pure classic.. really feel like learning how to play that song now... [perhaps one day when i'm free i'll drop by esplanade's library and borrow the scores]

The scenery - Picturesque view of the fresh greeneries, mountains and the clear blue sky blended together in perfect harmony... viewed from a rocky cliff... if i could one day be given the opportunity to be at such a place, seeing for myself whatever that appears in front of my eyes.. i will gladly like to know how exactly will i feel then...

wow... i'm at a super duper dreamy state now and perhaps it's really time for me get some sleep.. [and dream =) ]

totally uneventful

got out of my bed, most reluctantly... to find that half a day was already gone!! ... it's 2pm!!

tried to talk... but OUCH!! a huge ulcer was hiding under my tongue!! really bad start for a day i must say...

took a whole afternoon to finish my lunch.. was in great pain of course... tried in vain... but it was still left unfinished..

since i supposed the day will be left this way.. no plans for any outings.. did something constructive =))) ... homework!! didn't like to do it of course.. and i suppose no sane beings will... but i'll have to say it's the only way [given the limited amt of activities i'll have today] for me to achieve some satisfaction for the day.. minimal no doubt... but at least a little is better than none... completed maths hols hm wk.. physics.. and half of chem... not bad huh?? uneventful day = infinite amt of work done... hahazzzzzzzzz... new physics formula for work done =)))))))) ...

sianz of hm wk... decide to go down stairs to read newsweek... and found out that our environment is in a mess, P.M. Gordon brown was transformed from Stalin to Mr Bean judging from the way he presided 'rock-steady properity', Singapore airlines new KrisWorld is super cool - the greatest show in the sky.... and many more.. too lazy to list...

oh well.. my mom is calling me down for dinner already... gotta go =))

A special day today...

It's my father's birthday today!!! HAPPY BiRtHdAy!!!!!! [i doubt he'll ever come to my blog anyway... haha...] so.... how exactly did we celebrate it??? =)

We went to marche for lunch [at VIVO City] =)... and we were like brainstorming of cunning ways to challenge their payment system =)... they had this card system.. each of us were given a card... suppose to scan it as we order our food.. and if we were to lose one card... have to pay 100 dollars for losing it... hmm... i was thinking if we can like juz use one card for the whole family... and spend over 100 dollars with it... then purposely lose it... wouldn't that be cheaper... ??? =) How bout a class of 20 pple all charging to one card and apply the same tactic??? Or perhaps they should be smarter than me... by imposing a limit to the amt you can charge to the card... but then again what if one wants to spend more than the given limit on one card... are they going to give you another one??? if that's the case better still =) ... with two cards in hand... juz keep one of them [no penalty of 100 dollars, amt paid = less than hundred]...

whatever it is... anyway... these are juz some random thoughts =)

After lunch... we went shopping... [not so fun though... coz it was my father and brother who were shopping for their stuff... i was kinda bored... ] My brother got a new jersey =) ... and my mom brought 2 umbrellas.... errr... how interesting!!!! Wanted to play pool after that... but my brother was under age...3 more years to go... wish he could be 16 soon... =) soooo..... we went to toast box for tea =)... and discussed what to do next .. here's each and every of our 'wonderful' ideas:

• my brother: play golf!!! [ya... very funny... it was like raining and i was wearing a skirt... ]
• my father: go to mount faber for a walk [they cant seemed to see the point that it was raining...]
• my mom: civil service club to play pool and bowling [hmm.. my brother is like only 13... maybe bowling still acceptable...]
• my brother: go home to play dota... [super bad idea.. suppose to be having a family day... dad's birthday remember?]
• Me!!: i ask my dad if by any chance we can hire a helicopter... to fly to genting!!! where there's much more entertainment there =) [since the 3 of them have not much ideas... why not try something more extraordinary??? =))) ... but obviously unacceptable]
• My mom: buy a DVD and go home and watch [no comments...]
• my father: let's juz drive out of VIVO then decide la ... [ok... set!]

so... eventually we end up at marina square... watch 'The Golden Compass' which was kinda disappointing... ate dinner at 'Imperial kitchen'... then home we went =)))))))))) THE END =)

trust me no one will believe it... coz this place is............ the hospital!!!!!!!!!

~ dance chalet [2-4 Nov] ~

Reach pasir ris costa sands at 7pm to find only 6 pple [han xie, peng yi, yan jia, charlene, audrey, and me] were there for the chalet... erm... ying kai zhen me shuo ne? a bit speechless ba... but nevertheless ... it's still quite fun.. jing kuo yi zheng tian de 'influence'... finally know how to speak proper chinese =) [err... but maybe 'han yu pin ying' still must improve... ] anyway... juz a short recount on how it went =)

1. played pool for 5 mins [coz i was kinda late and they already started some time ago]
2. eat dinner [took only ice kachang coz already had mine earlier]
3. went back to chalet and play cards till 3 plus [learn how to play 2 new games... one of which is Indian poker ---- err... it's quite lame ba]
4. talk from 3 plus till 6pm
5. took breakfast at Mc donalds [we're sleepy though... didnt sleep the whole night... but i think got someone more sleepy than us - the person who serve us breakfast at Mc.. =)]
6. went back to chalet... continue with cards.. [i then realized that i was a bit feverish... really CMI lor... only one night ba le...]
7. took panadol... then go to escape theme park =) ... hmm.. i must say the rides there are more of a torment than thrill... vikings caused me much giddyness... and the 'superman' ride kind of worsen it... inverter was painful!!! and the roller coaster gave me backache and stomach ache.. haiz... but somehow it's still quite fun... and funny too!! =)
8. went back chalet.. and almost immediately... we fell ASLEEP!!! haha..
9. woke up... still feverish.. plus dunno if next day need to go research... sooooooooooo... decided to go home ba..

yawnz.. i'm really tired now... guess no energy to reflect on what i did today le...
